Best turning method

Apologies in advance if I have missed an established thread, but I have read that 50% throttle is the best turning speed, and also understand by use of Thrusters and in some cases switching FA off (at the right time) this can greatly increase the turn speed.

Can anyone help with this please ?.

For max turn:

50% speed, full pips to Engine, turn, FA off... complete majority of turn then FA on to complete turn and become controllable to shoot.

For a 'slip turn' you can pull up on joystick add downwards lateral thrusters and feather throttle to turn but keep target in your sights, thereby being a difficult target to hit while keeping your aim on.

I keep advertising him but Commander Sam has some good vids on his combat manouevres, have a butchers at these:

How on earth do you target subsystems without switching to the UI? He targeted lasers but you never see him do it.

bind next/previous subsystem to a key or joystick button and cycle through until you have targeted the subsystem you want.

boost gets through about 1/3 of the turn instantly, 2 in a row is about 100'

what, you boost as you turn? does that not propel you forward rather than through the turn? Must give this a try.

I boost twice in an interdiction, still in the spin. it gives me time to realign to the target, and being boosted, of course.

Ha, I have only had one look through the key bindings, must have missed that. Will try later. See you out there...
