Just want to point this out separately, I will add it to the compendium in my sig. It's worth noting.
I saw someone mention that the in game supersampling looks nicer than Nvidia DSR/Custom resolutions. I thought I'd give it a try. Oh boy were they right.
It IS a big performance hog. I am able to handle it when far away from any kind of station or asteroid. I don't get any judder most of the time. So when I am deep space exploring, I will enable 1.5x in-game SS, Ultra shadows and sweetfx (now using ReShade instead - see the compendium).
What's so special about it is the stars. It makes them small and bright, finally! I was always a little sad that the stars are so unrealistically large on the rift, while they look perfect on normal 2D. In-game SS seems to almost perfectly fix that. The more you turn it up, the better.
So guys, when you are only trying to enjoy space, this is the ultimate enhancement. When fighting, docking, trading etc. then it'll have to go off for all but the beastliest of beast rigs
