Horizons Best Way To Get Money For A Beluga?

Hi, I'd really love to get a Beluga and start doing passenger missions and visiting exciting places but seeing as it costs a whopping 84 million, what would be the best way to earn enough to buy one? I currently have an Asp Explorer with 108T of cargo space and about 8 million in the bank. Should I do rare's trading or something else?

Thanks for any advice.

Do you want to know the BEST way or the FASTEST way? The best way is to find something else that you enjoy doing in-game and then just do it until you get bored or have enough credits to buy that beluga. Passenger missions are, I think, the most lucrative thing you can do in-game right now to generate credits fast so if you want the credits fast I'd outfit that Asp as a passenger ship and start ferrying passengers. No need to wait for the Beluga.

I have a Beluga Liner
I got so sick of it's low speed and the Interdictions by mostly FDL's
the scaping JUST by the skin of your teeth
I went back to my Asp X, no more problems
I fly in peace, no "Will I die next"?
and there is no difference in making money
I'm making as much as I would with my Beluga
besides in many cases, because of it's jump range, with my Asp X I only need 1 jump compared to 2 or 3 with the Beluga

Dump the cargo space and get cabins for passenger missions. You'll want to earn up some Rep first so that the Beluga will be worth it. You might also want to consider NOT getting one. The benefit of using a more militant ship is that you're less worried about getting interdicted and blasted apart. I've been using my Viper mk4 and its a piece of cake.

Buy a cabin for what ever your flying now.

I saw a lucrative passenger mission and bought a cabin for the vulture, then sold the cabin at the destination 1.2m for 2 passengers and 1 hop.

What these 2 guys said! ++++
Don't get a Beluga. The passenger missions are 6 here 10 there 20 somewhere else. You don't need a Jumbo jet to fly a dozen passengers.
I have an ASPx for trading/exploring and making sssllloooowww millions.
The passenger missions in my base system are offering up to 6 million to ferry some VIPs. But I don't do passenger. Not yet anyway.

Yeah, what ^ they said. Don't get a Beluga - get an Orca. Same thing, just as practical.

Or just get a Cobra III. Fit a size 4 business class passenger compartment (6 passengers), a size 4 fuel scoop, a DDS, ADS, and size 2 cargo slot (for the annoying commodity rewards). Get allied, scan everything on the way, $profit.

If you want the BEST ship for doing these missions, don't bother with anything but an Anaconda. It can hold everything but Luxury cabins, and unlike all the other large ships, including the Beluga, it can actually be upgraded to give you a useable jump range for doing those seriously LONG DISTANCE passenger missions.

The Bulga maxes out at 32 Ly with all of the currently available Engineer upgrades. (I tested this out thoroughly in the Beta). The Anaconda can be pushed well beyond 40 Ly with little effort, and close to 50 Ly with some extra effort. My Conda Liner is currently hitting 44 Ly with a full passenger cabin compliment and my standard weapons load out.

Compared to an Anaconda passenger build, the Beluga is a joke. Frontier totally missed the boat with that ship. It should have had the highest range in the game simply due to the mission distances it is supposed to specialize in doing. Makes no sense from a real world, real history perspective.

Thanks for all the replies, really helpful. I have switched out all my cargo racks except a small 4T one and gone with 6C 1st class passenger cabin. I have been doing a few passenger missions and they're very lucrative. I am stuck on my current passenger tourist missions though as it wants me to go to Last Defence in Lugh and I can't find it anywhere! I have been to every planet and moon and can't see it anywhere so I may have to abandon this mission and take the loss. Must be a bug I guess.

I think I will get the Anaconda then when I have enough money saved as it seems the Beluga isn't worth it. I will keep my Asp X as it's a good ship and will be handy if I decide to change playstyle in the future.

Thanks for all the help.
