Newcomer / Intro Best way to take a profile shot in ED?

Hi everyone,

Noob question - how do you take a good profile shot in ED? I am also trying to upload a good profile shot on Inara. Any ideas how to go about doing this?

This thread made me look into the Holo-Me outfitting. I think it's a big shame that there's only one type of clothing available. There's plenty of colour, but only that one style.

Hmm I ended up using this (previously unwanted) feature of an X-Box Game Bar on my PC (not sure how I got that...) and took the image from the Holo-Me screen (before realising there is a more realistic one in the Codex and now don't seem to be able to change it!)

Oh well this will do though...

Changing avatars on the forum has been frustrating from the start.
What I usually do is to try and upload the new picture 15 times. Even if it "fails" every single time, over a span of couple days, the new avatar starts to appear on some of my posts eventually and after about a week, on all posts, even retroactively.

Don't ask, I don't know.

It does say:

"NOTICE: Uploading an avatar over an old avatar may not apply for at least 12 to 24 hours. "

Also you have to let the animation at the top of the screen (showing it uploading) finish - it is not very apparent.

I think that is what is confusing me - there was no animation when I used the Codex version versus this one which was just in the Holo-Me screen (because like I dunce I didn't actually READ the instructions to check the codex, just saw Holo-Me and jumped right in there with my space boots... stylish, but affordable...

Oh well I dare say it doesn't matter that much- looks about the same!

I'm upset as hell about that. I spent some real-life money for a bunch of outfits in Horizons, but now all I have is this damned long-underwear. :mad:
