Best weapons for the Fer-de-Lance?

Huge PA, 2 GBeams, 2 class 2 GMultis. Big shields and boosters.
Beams for the little stuff, everything for the big stuff.
And hunt near somewhere to restock.

If you're doing it in open, you need weapons that can do as much damage as possible quickly, as I doubt that you'll be hanging around too long.

Game map is big enough to not encounter any players for long time or even never lol. Unless you intend to :)))

In powerplay?

Ya even that whole powerplay area is huge enough to make you lonely lol. Ive been hanging arround near lav duvals capital for like 3 months and yet i can recall coming across maybe like 1-2 players lol

I'm looking forward to the new patch. First thing I'm going to try out in the beta is 4 imperial hammers and a class 4 multicannon underneath, followed by class 4 beam underneath and 4 multis on top. That and testing 2 class 4 beams on my corvette.

Good times.

I run 4 C2(G) pulses and a fixed C4 PA on my FdL. Would like to see a C4 beam for using against NPC's but think the Wep capacitor would drain in the blink of an eye.

Against current meta's, rain of bullets works very good.

5x Gimballs or fixed multicannons, it melts hull tanks bulids. If you got Horizons, if stack materials for basic reloads, you can have full 5 reloads of ammo for all 5 of them (thats 55,000 bullets!) by using 250 units of 300. Needed materials can be stack in less than 1 hrs.

Having that much ammo, you can take on anything but it might takes some time before you burn all SCB's of Vette's, Cutter's or Conda's by rain of bullets. Best thing about this loadout is not needs more than 2 pips on WEP...

Its good for PVE too.

I'm pretty boring with my FDL now! I used most load outs and enjoyed several of them. However, I find all Pulse work great. I put two medium on 1 trigger and 2 medium / w large on another trigger.

I fire both triggers until mid capacitor, then let off the trigger w/3 on it. Then simply hold for 3 seconds, release for a couple, hold for 3 seconds, release for a couple... Just like talking the guns in real life! If your a heavy weapons expert, you know what I mean. This allows the capacitor to maintain 1/2 charge with no issues. I can kill a power plant if 20 seconds tops....

The mission I just did, kill 42 pirates for 1.5 M Credits, took me and 1 wing-mate less than an hour. So he got 2.2M from the bounties and I got 2.5M, because I started a little before he got there. So, I made 4M in less than an hour with BH'ing.... Not bad.... Not great either... As my ASP-E can turn 10-15M in about 1.5 hours.

In powerplay, you play PVE. Anything else is inefficient. To play PVE most efficiently, you play Solo. So yes. You won't encounter human players in Powerplay. Unless you do it wrong, of course ;)

we are suppose to play power play in solo? My bad, I only do open. Only time in in solo is for rank grinding.

Man walks into the outfitting shop.
"Hi, do you have Pulse lasers for my Fer de Lance?" and the engineer says: "No."

"Okay, then, do you have a multicannon that would fit on my Fer de Lance?" "No, we don't"

"Fine, do you at least have torpedo pylons. I really need my Fer de Lance to be competitive." "I'm sorry, sir, but no."

"Listen, you're really unhelpful. Do you have something against Fer de Lances?"

"Of course, sir. Pulses, cannons, torpedoes...."

I have a type 3 beam turret and 4 multi cannons.

Most players that want to kill you wil not have shields.

The beam turret enables a hit on you attacker whilst you both go round in circles, as the other ship will have fixed weapons.

I am never going to win in this situation as I am not good enough but at least I get some hits in.

When you eventually face each other you can run off some magazines to see what your fate will be then run when at 50% hull.

One thing about the FDL, the other day I was hunting in an enemy territory gaining merits for Hudson, when a Clipper and FDL showed up. They were sided with the enemy, so I was free chicken to kill. When they came after me, they couldn't take. I low waked out and they interdicted me. I submitted FA off'd flipped and boosted past them. This time I high waked out, because I knew they would just hunt me down. My point is, minus another FDL or FAS nothing can kill you. And even then, you have to fight to the end and decide to die! Just another reason I prefer the FDL. I know many ships can control the battle, but, it works for me!

This was the loadout I used to farm rank 5 PP in an FDL:

large beam, medium beam, 3 medium multi-cannon, all gimballed.
