Hmm... so apparently somewhere it's been confirmed Compy's are normal dinosaurs... wonder how we're suppose to catch them when they escape...
I wonder the exact same thing too.... if we stun them with a Dart it'll just go straight through the compy and kill them I wonder how Frontier plans to handle that in the game maybe it's a different method of catching them we'll just see.
It's not just the shooting them though, it's the hitting them... the smaller things get the harder it will be to shoot them... Homalocephale are already tough enough to target, but a Compy is half as big...
Well, I have multiple questions for the compy for the following DLC:
1. How exactly are you supposed to keep it contained?
2. How are you supposed to care for it?
3. How will it behave?
4. How will you capture and move them?
So many unanswered questions I want to find out for this potentially extremely small dinosaur entity once more reveals or the release of the DLC itself show and/or explain.

I am guessing here, but to catch it, you probably set up traps. So it could either be a built object that lures them in to be captured, or the ACU copter could throw down tranquilized bait for them to eat from, or a net. It will be really interesting how one of the feature focus could cover the compsognathus and pteranodon. I hope there are new game mechanics to add to the fun of recapturing dinosaurs XD
though some of my doubts might be explained tonight or during release, but i have a theory that dinosaurs may poop. since in the original novel compys were used as a way to clean up after the dinosaurs. and i feel that most of the updates coming to JWE may have been influenced because of PZ and since animals there defecate, so maybe dinosaurs in JWE may poop as well. before they said there weren't sleeping dinosaurs, but now we have em. also before they said there wasn't gonna be a day night cycle, again now we have them..... so FD really listens to their fans. heck we even got toilets now.
That was only in the novel though (thankfully)... hard to imagine they'd go out of their way to add such a difficult to manage animal and then make it eat nothing but crap...
hahaha now that i think about it, we might have protesters in JWE like in PZ coz we feed the compys nothing but crap
sorry. but seriously we might see a new feeder same like the fish feeder. on that note i am excited for the pteranodons as well. my gahd this update is an awesome early xmas gift.
The problem is that people were moving way too fast. This DLC has been in the works for a while. Around the time the game first released and probably a little before that. I knew this DLC was way too much for just a few months.

The Compys would need a nonelectrified fence anyway. If they hit one of those 10,000 volt electric fences it would kill them. It might be fine for bigger dinosaurs like a Rex or Triceratops but Compys are tiny. They would probably even explode. So see a Compy break out of an electric fence would be really unrealistic.
If you guys havent noticed from the screenshots yet... All the new fence types have mesh wiring in the bottom. Mesh/chain link. In the lighter 2 new fences it only goes up to like the 2nd wire of the fence. That's how they'll be housed with other dinos.
Hopefully this means the older fences will allow them to walk or hop right out. Im def gonna try that for the free roam compy idea from the book.

The fences have mesh along the bottoms to keep them in and they eat from the normal feeders like the Homalocephale does.
