The other two mining tools work fine (although like others I think the ablative blaster should be rolled into the standard mining laser (hold over surface deposit until it pops)).
However I think the SSDMs could be made to function a bit better.
The main thing I don't like about them is having to fire multiple missiles, this has the following issues:
What I'd like to see is that you only have to fire one missile.
As the missile goes down and passes a blue zone you press Fire again to deploy a submunition
When the drill reaches the end the submunitions pop in order with a slight delay.
This would:

The main thing I don't like about them is having to fire multiple missiles, this has the following issues:
- The ammo expenditure at the moment is quite heavy
- Most rocks are spinning fast enough that the deposit has left your firing arc, meaning you either chase it (not easy in a bigger ship, and still disorientating in smaller ships) or you sit and twiddle your thumbs (or atleast use your mining laser) and wait for it to come back around

This would:
- Mean you don't have to chase or wait for the spot
- Save ammo
- Eject multiple chunks in a tighter grouping
- Look really cool. Like the rippling explosion of a building being demolished (or atleast a roman candle).
