Beta question, workaround to getting the module etc.

So I'm 6k away from civilized space and it seems that beta continues from there. So my questions are:

- Seems that you need a module for landing on planets. Any way I can circumvent it or do I just have to haul myself to some station 6k away and buy it, then move on?
- If I blow myself up in beta, am I dead in my "real" game too?

Answer is nope, 100% separate, you can even clear your entire save and start over in beta with 0 impact on live. Just check before you do that you are in the right version

Self destruct is fine - what happens in Beta stays in beta and does not effect your "real" game in any way.

So I can just kill myself in beta, start from civilized space, buy the module and go? When I fired up beta and decided to land on one icy planet, I was already hyped and went like "HELL YEAH!" when I was starting my landing cycles, seemed so cool. Imagine what I felt like when the prompt popped that I need a new module for landing . Was like "well F''' damn ..." But thanks for the info, greatly appreciated!
