News Beta Server Downtime [N.B. Not for 2.0]

Hello Commanders,

Just a quick update regarding the beta server and its downtime.

We'll be performing maintenance on the server starting today at 1400 UTC. We now intend for the test servers to be back online around 1900 UTC but as always this is an estimate. This will allow us to update our back end services and provide better stability during test. Please note that this is not for the 2.0 beta testing.

As always, thanks for testing out the newest and bleeding edge updates to Elite Dangerous. Your feedback, bug reports, and support are greatly appreciated.

Given David Braben's post yesterday though, I'm not all that surprised. Certainly gave the impression that they need a little more time to work on it.

The voices speaking to me through my tinfoil hat ask why you pulled the beta from the launcher if this is just a server down and we have this nice indicator light for this. Thargoids? Or surprises?
