Beter way to filter habitat items.

At the moment you have to scroll down untill you find the right animal (judging from the beta this is going to be a long list). It would be nice when you select an animal and get the information panel of that animal on the right you automaticaly filter the habitat items compatible with that said animal. (like in Zoo tycoon 2)

If this is not possible atleast give the option to search for the animal with a searchbar where you can just type it in. (would be nice for in the animal market as well)

I agree 100%. I spent several minutes thinking I must be an idiot, because I couldn't figure out how to do it. After all, the terrain paint works that way. Why don't the habitat items, trees, and other related items?

very accurate. I can't say I like the panel system where I buy animals. could have been much better.

An auto-filter option would be good for existing enclosures containing animals, basically filters depending on all the animals in an enclosure currently. Great for enclosures with a mix of animals.

or you know, you just use the filters that are already in the game, and working perfectly....

i put the animals in a completely empty pen, pause the game, then click on the animals to see which continets and which biomes its native too. then i go to the "nature tab" and apply the continent and Biome filter there, the animal will be oke with all plants that show after doing this.

so yea, if you dont use the filters currently in the game, i can see why it would look like a long list. next to that is when you are going trough the habitat items themself, it has a bunch of tags on the right hand side, including animal tags, if your animal is not listen in those tags, then your animal will not like that item.

I am using the filters..... The thing is in the future there wont be 20 animals on the list but more like 60+ which will become a pain in the a** to search the correct one. Wont it be nice to select animal A (that is in your paused habitat) and then everything you click on to build (trees, enrichment, food etc.) is automatically filtered in the menu's.

i dont see the problem, because tree's will be filtered by biome, and continent and allot of animals will have the same biomes and continents. so your not filtering trough a list of 60 animals, but instead you are looking trough a list of how ever many Biomes there are, less then 10.

and like i said, enrichment and food. already shows you on the right hand side, which animals its good for. so again i fail to see the point? and seeing as how i can type in a search bar, no i dont think it will become "a pain in the a**"to look trough a list of 60 animals.

Its a QoL request. The current method is clunky and as pointed out will get worse as the list of animals grows, plus it also aids building multi-species enclosures where currently you have to memorise a matrix of biomes and continents.

The default situation for most people will be looking for habitat and nature features to add for the animals currently in the enclosure, ie when you are trying to improve their welfare or when you have researched new items. Therefore the filter in the habitat and nature menus should default to an auto-filter based on which animals currently exist in the enclosure or if the animal(s) that you have highlighted. Clearing the filter and finding your own filter requirements should be the step for a more bespoke situation, ie building up an enclosure for an animal you might purchase in the future.

sorry about background noise i forgot to turn my mic off and so its recording the sound of my aquarium pump XD

what i do in the video is show you how you can find all the things for the Galapagos turtle and hippo's only by seaching for "Gal" and "hipp" then i show you how easy it is to filter specific plants for specific animals. took me a whole 1 minute and 25 seconds for 2 animals.

"you know the search bar doesnt search for animals" no i did not know that, because for me it seems to work perfectly fine.

oh as a note, you are not restricted to one set of filters. so the argument "with multiple animals in one habitat it becomes a hassle" is simply false. then you filter for multiple biomes at once, click on 1 animal. set filters for biomes, click on second animal, add more filters, done.

i dont see how this 30 second task has you all complaining. what you are all suggesting is to click one animal have automatic filters set, then place stuff down, then click second animal. have automatic filters be applied. then place all the things down.

seems like my method is faster.
