During Alpha and Beta testing, many exploits were found and ticketed. We also played with them too. During Beta, I figured it would be my one chance to actually have 1 billion credits in my game account at any particular time, so I made a short video (hidden to everyone except FDev and me) of how to do the exploit, submitted the ticket, then spent 45 minutes hitting the 1 billion mark just so I could get a screenshot.

I knew it would be wiped anyway, either immediately or come the next big update.
So I'll always have my screenshot.
At the time, the extra cash allowed me to test other things, like the bigger guns in the bigger ships, and gave us plenty of cash so we could do some good for the community, such as the Weapons Damage Charts (which required a lot of shooting, repairing, and shooting, and buying different hulls, and guns... lots of credits spent.)

But now, with the game actually released, I wouldn't pull something like that. If I found an exploit, I'd record it and send it in with a ticket and keep quiet. You tell one person, and they tell someone and pretty soon a lot of the server population is doing it and FDev eithers spends way too much time rolling certain people back, or they just roll everyone back. Why even get there? If they spend less time babysitting us, then they have more time to roll out new content.
And I wanna see and play with all the new content coming...
