Better water physics

I'm probably not the first to suggest this but this game really needs better water. My suggestion would be to take a page from 2006s "Wildlifepark 2".

Essentially you place a water source and a drain. Then you run a liquid physics simulation, doesn't even need to be a good one. Have the water for the simulaton spawn from the water source and increase the amount of water spawned until the water surface reaches the height of the drain and then freeze the simulation at that point. And have objects like rocks, walls, roofs, etc, be impermeable to the water. It would be nice if the simulation would automatically recognize when the water is flowing downhill or falling straight down in a waterfall and add corresponding effects but those can just be added by hand later so that's a nice to have but not neccesary. Water surfaces created this way would not just look much more natural, one could even make really nice loking waterfalls without having to cheat with effects, it would become possible to build full underwater structures, it would become possible to alter a water surface without having to first delete the water and then fiddle around with the terraforming tools until you can place it again, you would no longer have to fully plan out your water surface before actually placing the water and so much more.

PLEASE! I don't care wether that comes as a dlc or just as part of the regular updates but please. I'm tired of this crappy water.

I don't know why they decided to use this volumetric water instead of the perfectly fine water from planet coaster. Not being able to terraform around water is awful. Especially when adding water back is impossible after deleting the water to terraform.

From my point of view no thanks, I would rather the game's processing be devoted to more complex animal and guest behaviours, improving the climbing system, introducing flying etc. I'd welcome them refining the water system to make it more flexible but have no interest in water based on physics which is more likely to be buggy, cause lag and I don't think it would add enough to the game to be worth the effort.

Just my opinion though!

You don't need a good physic simulation for this. The most bare bone basic one will more than suffice.

In all due likelyhood the pathfinding for the guests will consume much, much more processing capability than the physics simulation. Especially since it only needs to run until the water has settled. At worst the game will get a little laggy when you try to fill in very large or complex basins or when you build a new waterway in an already very large zoo.

I would love to see a waterfall mechanic by creating a body of water on an elevation above a lower placed body of water, like how you would make waterfalls in zoo tycoon 2

Just bumping this threat due to frustration of once again having spend like 30 minutes just fiddeling around with the current CRAPPY water mechanic after doing a rather small modificiation to a river system in one of my zoos. While we are at it, how exactly does the water mechanic interact with elevated paths and the boat tour stations? Because i had to delete the path and the station before i was able to reapply the water, it's extremly frustrating.

Yes, i understand it's like quite a core mechanic of the game but PLEASE FIX THIS CRAP!
