Horizons Beware of the Beluga!

On two occasions, Belugas have actively sought to trap my Corvette inside the slot by waiting outside and then accelerating upon my entry. Whether its a bug or intentional, you will be destroyed if you can't clear the slot.

Has anybody experienced this as well?

There is definately something going on with NPC Beluga pilots around space ports. I think it may be some peculiarity of NPC pilot flying style when applied to the Beluga, if you follow my meaning. I'm pretty sure NPC pilots don't see us anyway, but mostly it doesn't cause much of a problem apart from the occasional glancing blow, except when they are in a Beluga.

Its always a good idea to check your scanner as you lift off the pad to see what may be coming into the station. Since the NPC ships are blind to your presence it is totally up to us to monitor traffic and give big ships like the Beluga a WIDE birth.

But to answer your question... No. I have not had any issue like this myself. I have been rear ended on numerous occasions and pushed through the mail slot. That kind of situation is harder to avoid since we have no rear facing camera (Something we could really use in my opinion for a host of applications), but as a general rule, just remember that NPC ships DO NOT know you are there and will not honor right of way under ANY circumstances.

The first time I thought user error, the second time I was watching the Beluga stopped at the slot and when I started to move forward, he accelerated through. I was ready and maneuvered out of his way. If it wasn't intentional, it sure looked that way.

I am in Maia and it is in Anarchy. If it happens again, it's not beware of the Beluga, it may be Beluga beware.

Their comm chatter has also annoyed me to no end.

From what gets said on this forum I'm sure that Solo and Open have different rules.
Just an hour ago I made a heavy and a Cobra move out of my way, which was wrong as I'm supposed to give way to larger vessels.
As I exit the slot I usually go flat strap or boost. I have had cobras move aside as they are trying to enter the slot.
