I laughed when I visited the No Man's Sky website to read about the next major update called (you guessed it) "Beyond". Well copying is the highest form of compliment I suppose.
On a point of more substance, NMS has really clawed its way back from the disastrous release in 2016 and is a good game in the space genre. The upcoming free update is touted to have enhanced online multiplayer and VR (not just a port, but purpose built) so I have to admit I'm looking forward to it.
In the end I think ED will always be dear to my heart but there is some competition in the wings and NMS seems to be shaping up as a real contender with features that are missing in ED like "legs" and "base building" to name a couple. So I think ED dev's will need to be on their toes
