Beyond The Frontier - An Elite Dangerous Book Project

Starting a new (completely unofficial, for now) novel based on Elite Dangerous (and its predecessors), just made up the title 'Beyond The Frontier' for the post but I'm actually warming to it lol

The concept moves the current canon and game beyond 3306, the bubble has been routed by the Thargoids and what's left of humanity has fled to Colonia and beyond. Working on two ideas at the moment;

Book 1 chronicles the exodus in a World War Z style narrative from multiple perspectives
Book 2 is more operatic in the sense humanity regroups to take back the Bubble.

Written a small prologue and would love any feedback while I bash on under this lockdown. Might as well be busy since I lost all work under the pandemic.

Will it take much materials to be able to turn to the next page? Also, can we have more than 1 letter per page? I wouldn't want to engineer the book to 80 characters per line and 60 lines per page first.

Have to admit I started to read that with a certain amount of trepidation (you know what fan fiction can be like) but that was really excellent, ended up reading the whole thing in my coffee break (and I typically tend to make snap decisions and give up on stuff quite quickly). Good luck with the project, can't wait to read more!

It's the wrong narrative.

I don't think the Thargoids are our enemies. They're not trying to exterminate humans. They're teaching us by letting us use their drones for target practice. To the Thargoid hive(s), the deaths of individual humans and the deaths of even thousands of Thargoids is ok in service of their agenda. I think the real enemy has not yet been encountered in living form.
