BGS Corrupts factions and works against the players

Dear FDev Team,
We players of a player faction can understand that bugs are inevitable in complex programs. Also, that it takes time to find and fix the bugs. In the meantime, the behavior of the BGS takes away a large part of the game experience. Especially when you have to watch helplessly how stations and whole systems of the player factions slip through your fingers like fine sand due to influence in free fall (sometimes 9% per tick and that several times in a row). Wars, despite massive efforts in the Combat Zone day after day go to the other side and successes built up over years are lost without a sound.

Does FDev intend to help the player factions after the elimination of the error in the BGS to compensate the damage caused by station and system losses through withdrawal? And how could this be done?
With kind regards,

A longtime German squad and player faction
United German Commanders also known as UGC

I've not seen any systematic changes in BGS operation - the brief and reverted bug around U14 aside - for quite a while. What you describe - at the level of detail here - could equally be caused by "another larger or more efficient player group is deliberately attacking you": how were you able to rule that out as a possible cause?

They've only ever rolled back after a BGS bug twice, I think. In both cases:
- the bug was fixed very soon after detection, so the rollback didn't lose much progress for anyone
- the bug was an extremely severe one causing absolute chaos across thousands of systems
(and not even all bugs like that got a rollback; the one after Fleet Carriers release didn't)

For something like the instability after the 3.3 release ... that lasted for months before they were able to get things to a relatively stable state, so there was no chance of any fair rollback as while some groups had lost ground, others had gained it in good faith under the rules of the time and could hardly be expected to give those up. That's very likely to apply here, too.

That it is another faction, we have already thought of, but 2 things speak against it.
1. nobody lands on the stations except our own people.
2. the number of player ships in the station news is too small.

Even a small number of ships can have a a significant impact on the INF. Also, you do not even need a ship. APEX in, pick up Odyssey missions and APEX out etc.

Population matters greatly.

Do you have an example of the situation you described, and would you share the system name? Or the info from Inara? Someone may be able to see something.

Steve.

Carriers or Apex can get an unlimited number of players into the system if they really wanted to hide their numbers, and quite a lot of activity can be carried out without leaving the system or with just a single jump.

If you think you're the only people doing something in the system, but for some reason the outcomes are reversed, then a simple test would be to do nothing for a few days. In a genuinely quiet system that should bring influence movement to a near-standstill ... whereas if you're facing opposition, it'll make the collapse faster.

In low population systems it may happen due to Black Market trading (if such PMF owns the station) or frequent settlement raids (if settlements belong to such PMF).

For me atm BGS is .

BGS tick start for example now and it takes +-4 hours before it is completely done, all changes.
Two hours after the tick take a screenshot of the news board of your faction and another 2 hours (4 hours after the bgs tick) the news board can/will change again.
Not to speak about seeing the inf changes in station, right menu and system overview.
