BGS help

Im confused on this. Our squad overtook a system a few ago, that has 2 stations, but we overtook only 1 station.. the other still belongs to the old faction with like 10% influence (were at 60% there). how we supposed to overtake that station too? do we have to run mission for the enemy to get another war? is that how it shld work? if so thats pretty stupid...

SRY if this was the wrong forum part.. dunno if a mod can change it to the bgs part, if so pls do o7

Should have kept the other faction up after overtaking the system control station in order to trigger more wars easier until all the stations were yours. Now you will have to grind the other faction up again. Or be satisfied with system control and not all stations in your hand. Don't forget ownership of installations and settlements. Taking a system over 100% is a long winded grind.

Whole forum of BGS help here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forums/elite-dangerous-background-sim/

Short version; correct, that's how it works. When you win a conflict, you gain the "most valuable" asset the other faction controls. If you want to get the other one, you'll need to equalize (rather than do a coup war, which it sounds like you did, where you get over 60-odd% influence when you aren't the controller) to go to war again, win that war and gain the other asset.

Coup wars are the quick-and-dirty way to get system control without getting other assets along the way. It might seem dumb, but if you gained all the assets in a single conflict, every system would eventually boil down to all assets in the system only ever belonging to a single faction and blow-out any diversity.

There's other systems which might work, but they'd also need yet-another-fundamental-rewrite-of-BGS-mechanics.

We got everything else. and we tried to do exactly that but with a big squad as ours thats nearly impossible.. theres always a few sheeps still runnin wrong missions...
Thanks tho..
So it is just a garbage mechanic again
i dont mind that theres different faction in a system controllin different station.. but the way to overtake them is garbage.. a faction with less than 10% shldnt be able to controll anything..

The counter to that is, if you control the system and all the important stations, do you really want to be sucked into a war with a faction on 10% that owns some strategically unimportant installation or settlement ... and risk losing one of the actually valuable stations in the process if it goes wrong?

Warring between the lower-inf factions over useless outposts is a prime way to hold your inf steady these days :)

i wldnt call that station unimportant. its actually a planetary station, an were controllin the station that orbits around that. theres also different missions which wld give more variety.. but welp.. not worth the effort at all.. thanks FDev for this genius mechanic

Just give that station to the local anarchy faction and you have an IF in the system.
