The Big Bang Theory is something of a guilty pleasure for me, although I am not entirely sure how pleasurable it is. The characters, the settings, the dialogue and so on all works well but why do they never end an episode properly? Invariably, they tie up at least the plot A part of what is an expertly formulaic show, but then just leave with a plot B scene that feels only half finished. Maybe it is an in-joke that the Big Bang always ends with a whimper but it feels like the writers see the clock hit 5pm and just walk away, almost without exception.

I thought that was a good touch. Did Howard effectively marry his mother or does he just turn any woman in his life that way?

It feels like their daughter is on screen about as much as his late mother too. We can never work out who is actually supposed to be looking after that child.

The major problem with TBBT is that it "jumped the shark" when they had the Sheldon move out of HIS apartment into the tiny one that was Penny's. It was just a stupid thing for that character to do.
