Big fat orangey giants - safe to jump?

So, I'm out in the rear-end of nowhere, got a whole lot of exploration data piling up... don't really want to die now. But I really want to take a picture of Ceti 56.

Thing is, it looks big and scary on the map. Will I arrive at a safe distance, or is that a navigational hazard?

It'll be fine. You always end up at a safe distance from the star. Just be ready to manoeuvre out of the way just in case, like with those flippin' white dwarves

It'll be fine, just make sure you're not in the loo when you come out of hyperspace And hit the x key quick. Not sure what happens when you jump into a black hole though, as I've yet to find one. Are you totally boned when that happens?

It's safe to jump, you'll get at safe distance from star... 10Ls for the small suns, or 300 Ls if they are really big, but even bigger then Ceti 56.
