Big Game Mechanics and Technical Suggestions

Hello and sorry for my bad english,
.
I have played "elite" now a little. But I noticed quickly that it is not the result I was hoping for.
Maybe it's the Connections problems that i have (cant chat with friends or see they do not always ingame) dont know.
But the biggest problem why these problems occur are 2 things:
.
1. Instance System
.
Why you use this on a toooooo big gameworld and the possibility that you can switch to solo mode?
It seems not only extremely unrealistic.. It wasted masses of potential.
.
Make this so easily possible:
.
- Big Scattered Spawn systems (let the user on start answers little story questions and bring it near the right fraction as exemble)
- Automatically disappear npcs unobtrusively with the number of players (so hanger should be adequate with 50 docks)
- And yes, small docks can be occupied all places by players (realistic! but you have infinity other docks or you con switch to solo!)
- Should meet only one system to many players then does not use a new instance (only on critical server state) rather blocks them with roleplaying elements like "overpopulated traffic, to high-risk hazard" ;)
.
2. Set static and very clean ports for your System/Game
.
Best is to use known gaming port like Steam ports. For
the most people automatic port forward don't work or more than 50% sitting with a ipv4 behind a NAT Rauting which only accept a few ports releases (ex. the steam ports)
.
.
PS: why is the forum no line breaks represent?

Hi Commander Philip,

Instancing has to be used for the game code to manage the distances and player interactions without hiccups and bad gameplay.

Every game has player limits. 64 is a very common maximum in multiplayer FPS games. Something like Planetfall with much higher numbers of players is a laggy, rubber-banding mess with poor gameplay.

Instancing also allows all players to be in the same shared universe. The system tries to put all humans together and FD continues to tweak this. However, too many real players in an instance would quickly result in poor gameplay.

I do not like the idea of blocking players from an area because there are too many other players already there. That would really jar, and break my play.

Port forwarding I have no idea about as I have never had any issues with my setup since premium beta. Have you opened a ticket on that if you are having issues?
