Big Paws Sanctuary

Hayo Planet Zoo community!

This is my new franchise zoo called Big Paws Sanctuary. I love cats. I've had this idea of a cat sanctuary ever since the game launched, but never got around to it. With the release of the SA pack I have decided now is the time, especially with the wonderful addition of the jaguar.

This is still very much in the early stages. Since this is franchise, I have to accumulate a bit of money first before I can maintain lots of big cats. Because they can be quite expensive to keep, they were not a possibility from the beginning, and I really wanted to build up the zoo from the ground up. My plan is to have the zoo quite small. I have included some "starter" animals to start turning the wheels and get the zoo going. I want it to be very lush, lots of "unkept" areas with flowers, trees, bushes, rocks.

This is the entrance. I am quite happy with it, especially with the two jaguar centerpieces up on the tree. I also made sure it has all the required lightning to make the statues more noticable. On the sides are two exhibit animals, the pink tarantula and the desert scorpion. I would have loved to have a scorpion sign, but I used the spider one twice. Scorpions are arachnids anyway so I figured why not. :)

This is the sign on the right as you come in. I think the paw prints on the floor are a nice touch.

My queen nile monitor! Having the space to herself. :) I build this open hall for nile monitors. I've kept it very simple. It's a bit on the small side so I have decided I'm going to have just one animal in it. All of her stats are at 100% so she's very happy.

My first big cat was of course the beautiful jaguar. I think I've made the habitat a little too big, but I think I've managed to make it work. The path goes all around the habitat with underwater viewing gallery and a cave viewing point where guests can see them sleeping.

I had a bit of space left between my nile monitors and the cave so I've put in chinese pangolins. They don't require much space and they are quite happy!

Oh and the wonderful llamas! They are at the beginning of my Chaahk Jungle. I've googled about Maya deities, gods and legends and came upon the god Chaahk which is a rain god in their culture. I think it was a fitting name for the area.

My next big cat will be the wonderful Bengal tiger and then the tropical part of the zoo is sort of done (animal wise). This is still work in progress. It's a bit more indian themed, but the whole area (llamas, jaguars, pangolins) is suppose to be a jungle or at least have a jungle-y vibe. Very lush and overgrown.

Stay tuned for more! :)

Very beautiful! I like that you build it in franchise, which adds to the realism of a sanctuary that might struggle financially or at least take time to build. Also, the lighting and detailing is very nice, especially the entrance area. Do you have more daylight pictures of the jaguar enclosure?

Thank you! I'm not the greatest at lightning and it can be finicky at times to get it right.

It's still needs some work here and there (like the cave with the glass where guests can see them), but it's pretty much finished. :)
