Bindings not loading

So I went to load he game up after not playing for a few months and it seems that my control bindings are not loading up.

My personal custom bindings file is in the Users/Me/Appdata/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Bindings folder but it isn't loading into the options in the game. The system did generate a BindingLoadingErrors text file that says.....

There where errors when loading preset file: Sneaux_Custom.3.0.binds
Failed to find GUID for device: 00790006

Any suggestions?

Have you changed your controls around since the last time you played? Removed input devices, switched where they are plugged in, or using different software for them?

...or simply haven't got your controller plugged in?

Check each folder down the tree has not changed status. I discovered my "Appdata" folder had been changed to hidden so ED created a "Me" as my username and PC name combined. Hope this helps.

There are some very real possibilities here.

I did rearrange the computer pit recently and likely also rearranged which rear USB ports things were plugged into. I also skipped plugging in the gamepad (for SRV control) since I have not been playing ED for some time and don't use the gamepad for anything else (i don't really like it anyway).

Yes the joystick is plugged in. The trigger works when I switch to Generic Joystick in the game control options.

Try plugging the gamepad back in and seeing if it successfully loads your bindings. If it does, unbind the stuff related to the pad if you aren't going to use it.

This worked. Thank you.

Now I just need to find another bit of time to reacquaint myself with the game. It shouldn't take long but spring has sprung and the farm chore list always grows this time of year.

this is redicullous. now i need to figure out wich of the hundred usb slots my hotas was plugged into other wise it will not work?
i have other stuff plugged in now that take presidence. am i supposed to now redo my whole binding list just because i need it plugged into a diffrent slot?
