The bindings in this game can be confusing at first. The preflight checks are good, but do not help much when resuming flight from space rather than a station. If Elite is being targeted at non-sim players it might be good to help them remember the bindings via a printout/pdf.
Having a print out for the default control schemes like KBM, DS4, x52, x56, t16000m, tm hotas etc as well as blank versions (to be filled in with a players custom binds.) available on the 'pilots manual' thing in the right panel, and also from the bindings menus (possibly in the blank region to the right of the bindings)
Having a printout for every possible combination of control setup is not practical, but most beginners will likely be using one of the defaults (kbm, or DS4) if they are new to sim type games, and having a binding reference available for these common options would be convenient.
The idea is to have something to reference available (physical copy, or open on a second screen) when in flight so you can actually lower the landing gear rather than boosting in the station walls.) Always refering back to the binding screen is clumsy at best, and leaves players vulnerable to finding a rebuy screen when they finally switch back to the pilot's seat. (not a particularity a fun early game experience.)
