We know if Frontier has plans to increase the rewards for these activities? I love the mechanics they added with Odyssey but the payment when selling samples is bit low compared to other activities if we analyze the time needed to travel, search and loot samples.
Compared with most other Odyssey activities - especially those which can be done without upgrading your suit and weapons a bit - a few hundred thousand to a million credits for a few minutes of wandering around on a planet actually compares reasonably well with Odyssey mission payouts, or the low-intensity CZs, or the money you'll get from selling salvage site loot.
Compared with Horizons activities
everything in Odyssey except high-intensity CZs is massively underpaid compared with its Horizons analogue. But then, you don't need large amounts of credits to buy Odyssey equipment anyway - there's no suit/weapon equivalent of the Anaconda (or even really of the Asp) where you need that sort of money. Of course, the other Odyssey activities you can do without doing their Horizons analogue - whereas to do exobiology, you need to be doing Horizons exploration too, so the fact that it
is unlike the other activities somewhat integrated with Horizons gameplay makes the payout disparity even more obvious.
It would be nice for exobiology to
do something, though - the rank unlocks a couple of minor cosmetics, the data itself is solely worth credits and doesn't do anything for the faction you sell it to, you can't get materials to upgrade your Artemis through it (while Horizons exploration is the main source of raw materials for all sorts of upgrades), etc.
