Biologicals and High Tech

I know that biologicals are bad for almost everything except terraform. But I saw two different sources that said that biological were good for high-tech and the other one said that they were not good for high-tech. Which is it? And is there any other economy that’s not detrimentally affected by it except for terraforming?

As listed in the 3.2 influences update, Biologicals will boost strong High Tech links built on or around a body with them on it.

I put two HT hubs, an agricultural and a port down on an Icy moon with organics, and those get boosted, but only the HT strong link goes to the Coriolis in orbit from the port, which also gets boosted.
The ground port has 2 x strong HT to provide the overriding economy, sending 1 strong to the Coriolis, which does takes a bit of hit from the invisible Icy/industrial.

Nothing seems to majorly affect the High Tech output, except the industrial.
As for the other organic influences, I just don't see any problems, and there is zero mention of Terraforming.
I have weak Tourism and extraction, but it isn't like the tourists are buying all the High Tech goods.

What are you building or aiming for, and what level of effect do you consider detrimental?
Like most things, if you are set on making sure a specific set of goods is produced, then focus on excluding or blocking weak links that will break it.

Thanks for the clarification. I have 3 systems, currently grabbing a 4th, all next to each other. I’m just trying to have one each of a good system for refinery, industrial and high tech, but they’re all over the place as far as the planet types and biologicals. I found out that the big ice world that was going to be the center of my industrial system has biologicals, so that messed up that. But with this info I might be able to change industrial to one of the other systems and use that one for high tech.
