Biomes and temperatures

Does anyone know what the (rough) temperatures are for each biome? Being a bit OCD, I like to build my zoos by biome, and I don't know if I can put temperate with taiga or if grassland suits, or both... I know I'm being anal, but it's just the way I like to do it!

Temperate and taiga are pretty close, taiga animals can handle the cold and more snow better than temperate animals can, but usually animals with temperate are also taiga or can handle it well. Outside of tropical, there are very few animals that only have one biome so you can mix and match animals with a few biomes. I can check in-game to see the temperature ranges however.

See this from Dr burrito, also the snow only happen in the tundra, taiga and the Temperate biome the rest only happen in sandbox mode when you select it

Ok so the temperature ranges for each biome is :
Tundra: -10 to 2 c
Taiga: -5 to 20 c
Temperate: -1 to 26 c
Grassland: -1 to 33 c
Tropical: -1 to 37 c
Desert: -1 to 43 c
Wait, they've changed it from -2 to -1 in the temperate Biome? Global Warming?🤔
Not sure if they changed the Tundra Temperatures but a Maximum Temperature of 2°C sounds great👍

Those values are no longer valid. They changed them, as well as shelter and water temperatures in an update a while ago. I have all versions logged and planning to share them in a future thread dedicated to temperature requirements feedback.

I didn't know that because I remember you shared this when two update ago they Changed all the temperatures in the maps, and at least the temperature of the desert, tundra and grassland are right, I play on franchise mode on those maps

Can't remember exactly when I shared it, but it should have been just before those changes then.

Did this future thread ever materialize? I am very interested in your logged values. I recently had a shock when my tropical zoo hit 42C, 4 degrees warmer than my animal could take. The animal was fortunately aquatic so it was able to escape the heat, but I did not even know there were heat waves until then. I tried to check in sandbox mode but could not replicate the heat wave temperature. Thank you for listening.

I did indeed promise the community about writing up several in-depth feedback threads on various topics like biome level temperature bounds, temperature requirements, model sizes, etc. However, my schedule proved more overwhelming than I expected, so I'm not entirely sure if I'll be able to complete them in time before support ends. If anything, they will serve as feedback for a sequel. Although I will probably split up the topics instead of making a single huge thread, so some of these might make it in time before support ends. I already have the majority of data collected for some of the topics, with temperature bounds being one of them, but I still gotta write up the posts themselves.

However, since you are wondering, here is a screenshot from my draft. I have three separate tables for original/old values (from launch to just before update 1.9), update 1.9, and update 1.9.2. I will put all three tables in the temperature bounds feedback thread, but this one I've shared here is the latest one I've logged and should still be up to date, unless they've made any changes since 1.9.2. I'll have to double check that though.

As for heatwaves, you need to keep the weather event setting on random and wait. There is no direct way of replicating them.
