Birds of the World - Ultimate Bird Prop Pack

Explore the birds of the world with yet another of my blueprint megapacks for the workshop! Convinving myself I can build the largest collection of birds, Birds of the World aims to do exactly what it says - to cover the wide diversity of birds and bring it to the game to fill up empty spaces in your zoo with bright and colorful aviaries. This is an ambitious task which will take a long time, likely into the next year to cover a huge collection of birds as I'm not just going to make a few blueprints. I also want to mention that I will try to cover all continents just as equally ensuring places like oceania and europe still get a fair share of birds against the bird powerhouses of asia and south america.

Need a specific bird? The bird does not need to be in captivity to have a place in the pack. Please let me know and I can add it to the list.

In a spoiler, the planned blueprints can be found. This is a work in progress and will receive regular updates expanding or removing birds from the list if the pack has been released on the workshop. You can also check back here if interested what future packs are up next:

I swear I saw the bird in the bottom picture shake its head rofl.

Good work. Very Impressive. And an ambitious project. As long as you are having fun while doing it .. have at it.

Thanks! Building these birds is a great change of pace compared to building huge zoos, despite the complex building steps for making these birds, it is still fun.

Standalone Series - Vultures Pack

Continuing large birds of prey brings vultures to the workshop! These rather ugly birds are some of the largest aviary birds, birds like the andean condor make an impressive aviary showcase. Heavy use of the tropical pack's drapery pieces allowed to me to replicate the wrinkly bare skin that vultures have which was not really possible at all to do right before last year.

The vultures included covers almost all the worldwide range of vultures with north america, africa and eurasia getting a great variety of choice. South america is also included, and oceania is left out since no vultures are present there. The pack includes 13 species of vultures:
  • California Condor
  • Andean Condor
  • Turkey Vulture
  • Black Vulture
  • Bearded Vulture
  • Eurasian Griffon Vulture
  • King Vulture
  • Ruppell's Vulture
  • Cape Vulture
  • Palm-nut Vulture
  • Egyptian Vulture
  • Cinerous Vulture
  • Hooded Vulture

Standalone Series - Metawishlist Birds

The next bird pack is an exciting one for those who love popular birds! The metawishlist birds pack takes 8 of the most popular birds requested by the community on the metawishlist by random goat and includes them in an exciting pack to use. The idea was to cross off the most popular birds to:
  1. Give everyone the popular birds in high detail they have been asking for so long
  2. Gain more popularity for my birds of the world collection on the workshop to show I can make the detailed birds
  3. Gives me access to alot of different base models to use in future packs. Birds like the ibis, duck, pelican and crowned crane will become very useful later on
The metawishlist pack doesn't include all the top requested birds due to the large piece count used on large birds like the marabou stork. Other birds like the southern ground hornbill, atlantic puffin and golden pheasant will come in their own packs in due time. For example the golden pheasant will be the star of the pheasant pack, or the atlantic puffin will be the star of the european seabirds pack.

So the pack contains:
  • Secretary Bird
  • Shoebill
  • Marabou Stork
  • Grey Crowned Crane
  • Scarlet Ibis
  • Roseate Spoonbill
  • Mandarin Duck (both male and female included)
  • Great White Pelican

  1. Amazing work as always, these are so fantastic I can’t even put it in words.
  2. Seeing the “meta wishlist” pack gives me visceral pain like a horse with colic. Once again, amazing work, but seeing these animals that could work in game most likely only be through props makes me upset.
  3. Again, massive kudos to you, just know I can’t use these because after I put down 4 birds the amount of props on my game would make my laptop implode.

The pain making those birds that should of came in previous packs was unbearable for me as well, even with a mega bird pack that will probably never come, half of these birds are likely to be missed. The only chance we will get them by these props is kinda sad.

Most of these birds are say around 200 pieces which should be alright for most laptops since it's mainly just gutter caps which do disappear after 100 metres or so. The limitations of trying to keep pieces count down while maintaining realistic details is an ongoing challenge.

Standalone Series - Pelican Pack

We already got one pelican with the metawishlist pack so why not the rest! Pretty easy to make as copying the base model of the great white pelican and adjusting it for each different is exactly what I hoped it would be like. An easy but effective 5 pelicans from around the world to place in aquatic habitats.

Pelicans featured:
  • American White Pelican
  • Brown Pelican
  • Pink-backed Pelican
  • Dalmatian Pelican
  • Australian Pelican

Standalone Series - Swans & Geese Packs

Using the base model of the pelican and repeatly making it smaller, a whole bunch of swans and geese have been added in just a day. So 2 packs today with one for swans, and one for geese.

The Swan pack includes 7 swans:
  • Mute Swan
  • Trumpeter Swan
  • Whooper Swan
  • Tundra Swan
  • Black Swan
  • Black-necked Swan
  • Coscoroba Swan
The Geese pack includes 15 geese:
  • Bar-headed goose
  • Emperor Goose
  • Snow Goose
  • Greylag Goose
  • Swan Goose
  • Taiga Bean Goose
  • Pink Footed Goose
  • White-fronted Goose
  • Brant Goose
  • Red-breasted Goose
  • Nene
  • Canada Goose
  • Barnacle Goose
  • Cackling Goose
  • Magpie Goose

These are incredible, i remember you telling me once that you didn't make the static animal models, but i am really glad you decided to give it a go!! Already planning to use some of them in my zoos.

At risk of sounding selfish, have you thought about doing fish at all? The aquarium pack by drac is great but i am really missing freshwater fish, and my hands are far too shaky to build with the necessary precision lol. Regardless, awesome job with the birds and i hope you are enjoying it because they truly are really good

Thanks! Yeah I remember telling you that lol, at the time I never thought I could build anything like this at all. I could have a go with some fish, it can't be too difficult compared to birds, are there any specific fish you are wanting me to potentially build?

No, I would be super juiced for any freshwater fish just about! Anything that you think you would actually use, or would have fun building.

May I ask you, even though it would be a bit selfish, could you make budgies for “me” in all kinds of colors? Or are they too small? I would really like to build an enclosure for budgies in my outback section. 🙏

Budgies are coming soon! as soon as I finish the pheasant and Shelduck packs, I am moving onto the Oceania series of birds which will definitely include several colors of budgies. I'm well aware that absolutely no one so far has made any budgies on the workshop.

What really? Well i guess its hard to make such a small bird

Yeah I was surprised aswell, there's lots of tiny birds especially north American ones like the Black-capped chickadee made by drac and jaguar_X but none of the skilled creators made the budgie which I thought is an extremely iconic zoo bird.
