Bits in my Rifty....help!

So, somehow I have small particles that need cleaning off the screen of my DK2.

AND I don't want to make it worse, so..........

Cleaning tips please!!

Thanks
Nosh

Pick up particles with a small unused soft paintbrush while watching a white image. Compressed air might help but tends to blow particles into the other eye box. You can also use the compressed air to clean the brush from what it picked up :)

I've tried everything over the last six months, air dusters/blowers, lens cloths, pre-moistened lens wipes, lens brushes, even a Speck grabber!
.
All of these have just resulted in moving the small particles around within the Rift without actually removing them, with the strength of the lens even the smallest particle can be quite visible.
.
The only thing I found worked really well was a mini attachment kit for a normal vacuum cleaner, to suck the bits out! (obviously with great care so as not to scratch the screen)
.
Universal Mini Micro Vacuum Cleaner Attachment Tool Kit
.
I now keep my Rift in plastic bag whenever it's not on my face, just to stop dust collecting on it (food freezer bags work well).

I also recommend these machine washable covers for the Rift to help keep it clean when it is in use: VR Covers

I think I may take the thing apart, remove all specks / debris, clean the screen and reassemble......

As for VR covers, I have tried those. The AboutFace VR is a far superior product and that is what I use now....

I have used canned air to good success.

Just hold the headset upside down when blowing it out and let gravity be your friend.

Take the lenses off, a few short blasts from an air duster (no longer than a second each) whilst holding the Rift upside down (screens facing the floor) then using a micro fibre cloth gentle wipe the screens. Using the same clothes you can wipe both the inside and outside of the lenses before putting the lenses back on.

What kind of particles do you have!?

I just use the cloth that came with the rift.
White background to spot them and 1 subtle wipe and its gone.

Maybe i'f just been lucky with my particles. ;)
