BK Gamer & New build help

Need some help Guys,

The VR/BK gamer withdrawal is getting real :-/ My setup is based out near Dubai, been stuck in the UK for over 7 months due to work, just found out I'll be here for another 6 to 7 months..

Plan was a quick flight back to pick up my rig, CV1 & BK Gamer, weekend flights are so expensive I may as well build a whole new setup from scratch and keep it here for the future.

So I need some advice on the following -

Where can I purchase a BK gamer or similar bass transducer here in the UK, have checked a few places and they all seem to be sold out, any similar devices people are using?

Best place to order a powerful rig for running VR, normally I would use Overclockers.co.uk - Any recommendations for somewhere better?

Full list of things I'll need.

Fast rig Intel K chip running at least 4.5ghz
CV1
Gaming seat with a transducer
HOTAS should be easy to get hold off from ebay.

Cheers

I am not in the UK but as for haptics, I use 2 of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/AuraSound-AST-2B-4-Shaker-Tactile-Transducer/dp/B0002ZPTBI
I use a Sony amp 110watt to drive them, but any 110 amp should suffice. I mounted 1 to the bottom and the other to the back of a office chair. Sound splits off the Sound card same as the BK, In fact, I used an old BK Y-cable. Plenty of vibration. It's a little more work than the BK but less expensive (more money for the computer) and you can mount them in more than 1 spot. Can't recommend a computer source as I am in Canada but there are many Brits here, so perhaps someone will chime in.

Not 100% sure, any advice would be appreciated, been a while since I've shopped for a rig.

I usually use this site too when shopping for stuff: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/

You can basically build a fantasy rig, filter by compatible parts only and it also does a price search on multiple websites for you for all the parts you've picked (you'll often find better deals elsewhere though).

As for the details, it depends what you want really, is it for Elite only? Full blast gaming rig?

Maye look at Ryzen - the new CPU from AMD, they kick bottom according to reviews. Downside is there aren't many mobos that support it yet (unless thing's changed since a month ago... Also, I'm not an expert :) ).

Graphics - personally I prefer nVidia to AMD, but obviously there will be people that will say AMD is superior... In either case I'd go for the latest generation.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. Like I said, I'm not an expert, but I'm not a complete noob either :)

I'll second scan.co.uk

I've had a couple of custom builds from them which have been excellent along with top quality service.

777 - I have a BK-GR2 Gamer I bought, used twice and had to stop as it disturbed the neighbours. It's yours free, if you cover shipping. Won't be in the original box, but I have all the parts/cables and it worked just fine. Wife keeps telling me to get rid of it and no one on island has shown any interest.

Here's the invoice. DM me if interested.

Incredibly kind of you! I have sent you a msg. Thanks to everyone that contributed, will start checking all these links over the weekend!

@Rootsrat, plan is to stick with an intel K chip that can be overclocked to at least 4.8/5ghz, I generally stick with Nvidia for GPU's.

Cheers!

Check the voltage :) I ordered on from the States as it was really cheap. Then I got hit with import duty and courier charges and I then found out that it was 110 volt only so I had to get a tranformer:eek:

As a side note, as us poor folks in the UK can't get such a thing directly, I came across THIS which seems to be a similar thing (without the mount for a central-pole seat sadly) - anyone with the BKicker confirm it's more or less the same?

Edit: It turns out I stumbled upon a site which actually SELLS the BK range - none in stock naturally - but it has alternatives.

If you've ever held a BK you know it has a quality the competitors do not. The weight of the transducer alone is noticeable as it is well over a kilo. I did a lot of research before getting one and the BK is simply the best IMHO. YMMV.
