It would be great if active black holes were implemented in the game. Sadly it doesn't appear likely in the near future.

Too much additional pew pew to implement before explorers get any love.

It'd be great to see one from a safe distance, less good to find the unsafe distance...

I would love accretion discs to be implemented in-game.
I've got the ticklist ready and V404 Cygni is on it.

such systems exist in elite, just the material sucking isnt modelled. if you see stars dominating the sky, but you cant find them within a few 100ly, because they are in fact 1000s of ly away you can be sure there must be a reason for it to overshine everything else.

example:



the group of bright stars nearly all include a black hole or are made up by up to 15 stars in 1 system.

You should remember something, V404 Cygni is a few thousand light years away from earth, if we see that black hole feeding, it means it did a few thousand years ago, not in a thousand years
