Black holes in 1.3

It's been a good month or so since I last did any exploring, so this could be just my old memory playing tricks on me. But I never remember getting to within 1000km of a black hole before 1.3:

Also I noted that the temperature didn't even start to rise. Have black holes been made a bit softer in 1.3?

you can be close as 25km. also they changed the appearance again, the black dot in the middle is back on the small ones, i wonder how saga* and the annihilator now look like. should be a bit like before 1.2 eg a big black sphere. can someone whos near take a pic please.

300m? I don't think I'm that brave. I was contemplating destruction testing once I've got back to the bubble (buy an adder, FSD, scoop, travel to nearest BH and keep going until I die, all in the name of science...)

Does the light bending effect still change when you move your head or rotate your ship? That effect is just silly. It's like looking through a crystal ball on a table 6 inches away. The light bending should only be slightly recalculated when the ship itself changes position by several dozen km at least.

Yes it does. Much more on Sag than at GrAnni - or I was just to far away but I had plenty scanning issues there for 2 days and was busy figuring out that instead. At Gr.Anni it was very little effect on both black holes.

PS: I forgot that I visited Sag also after 1.3 - so both screens are from 1.3 (edited above)

Thanks for the update. I guess I'll have to wait till 1.4 to make my pilgrimage. Hopefully Black Holes will be fixed by then. I wouldn't want to see the great beast in such a dishonorable state.

Hi !

How do you find black holes in elite dangerous ? I heared that there is one in Sagittarius A.
Are there many of them out there? I visited a few nebulas already but i could never find one.

You can set the filters in your Galaxy Map accordingly. Black Holes are Non-Sequence entities. Also, you can quite often find them in O and B star systems orbiting the main star.

You can fly right through them now Or at least, I did in 1.2...

At CD-26 1339 B this morning, I got dropped out of Supercruise somewhere under 100km (no damage, I was doing 30km/s), and hit the body exclusion zone at 75.8km. Got some nice selfies, but I can't post them right now. Heat level in my Diamondback at 75.8km was stable at 49%, for reference in open space it's about 20%.
