I very much enjoy the way ED ties consequences (both positive and negative) to actions. For example, fighting in CZs raises a pilot's reputation with one minor faction while lowering it with the other. Choosing to abandon a mission results in a loss of reputation with the mission giver. Completing missions can raise both a pilot's reputation with a MF and increase the influence of the MF within the system. Likewise, failing missions lowers the pilot's reputation with the MF and the MF's influence in the system. These actions/consequences, and so many more, make a lot of sense.
However, the action of selling items at a black market lowers the influence of the controlling MF without incurring a commensurate consequence in pilot reputation with that MF. I do not suggest lessening the black market influence drop, it is an accepted BGS tool to lower a MF's influence. My suggestion is that selling goods at a black market come with the logical consequence of reducing the pilot's reputation with the MF that suffers the influence loss. Anarchy-controlled black markets would be a possible exception.
