Black Market and Thargoid Resin / Biological matter :(

So, I was out at the crashed Thargoid scout ship just to see what it looked like and I picked up some Thargoid biological matter and resin. After I'd had my fill of taking screenshots, etc. I left for Obsidian Orbital, but found I couldn't sell the Thargoid materials in the standard market. Had to use a black market to sell them and was only getting around 25,000 Cr. So I thought I'd be smart and sell them across several black markets to unlock the Dweller. Spent a 1.5 hours searching for black markets (they were all disabled near my base in kamadhenu) and after the last one was sold I checked my progress with the Dweller only to find that my progress was still 0/5... So, it seems Thargoid commodities not only cannot be sold for anywhere close to the listed galactic average (only got 25,000 Cr. at every black market), but also, they don't count towards unlocking the Dweller [knocked out]

This may be true, or not. Myself along with several other friends have experienced a bug with black market progression. It may require submitting a ticket with FD. They were really nice about it though!

Really??? I'd hate to file a bug if it is intended to work this way... Anyone else with experience in this area? Would love to have not wasted my game time, but would be sad if this was yet another bug in unlocking engineers. Thanks in advance for any more information anyone can provide on this topic

If you were even more sensible you would go to obsidian orbital and get palin to pay you millions for them - millions!

Edit: ft want to see if this is a known bug you should search the internet - I hear Google works quite well.

Pailin offered me 17 million for three biological materials last night ... I declined .... but that was a huge payout for one mission !

Usually it's about 4 million for one item that he requests.

Edit - The Engineers appear to be bugged - see bug reports, there are several problems being reported.

so, I can confirm, based on some testing last night, that Thargoid Resin and Biological matter do NOT count towards The Dweller's unlock requirements as they are not considered stolen (even though you are effectively stealing them from the Thargoid crash site). After selling stolen human Biowaste (took a mission to deliver it and then abandoned the mission) at 5 black markets, I did manage to get 3/5 of towards the unlock. It takes quite a while for the sale to register though. I'm hoping the remaining 2/5 will have registered by today, but my internet connection wasn't doing so well after the hurricane so I had to quit the game before finding out.

The grind to unlock engineers should never have been so high in the first place. This is content we all paid for. Same goes for faction rep grind for locked ships. We paid for this stuff.

I've been getting 25 million for four.

Yea, we paid for the game. Not the progression. I am not saying the grind to open all the engis is well balanced, as it isn't, especially considering all the menial work you need to do to open Palin. What I am saying though is that this if all possible content would be made readily available just because you buy the game there would be nothing left to do.

One of the worst arguments I have ever seen here on these forums. And that's saying quite a bit.

I agree with progression but at the moment I am not progressing, at least where the engineers are concerned. I refuse to bore myself to sleep trying to unlock content I paid for.

Well on that basis I should have immediate access to the Big Two ships ... and engineered to the max ... because I paid for it ..... but oh wait ... this game sucks, there's nothing left to do

It could well be deemed intelligence, if you actually take the miniscule amount of time it takes to read what was written.
At no point did I say everything should be unlocked, but, with regards to what I just wrote it may be appropriate to let it slide. Dont want to put any unnecessary strain on your thought process.
