I was in a HIRES yesterday in my cobra3 giving the local mutt & jeff units a hand (sys security), pulled $800K, and being the neat freak that I am I had to pick up all the dropped loot, (to keep space neat and tidy, y'know). I am referring to the stuff that goes in your cargo bay, not your TARDIS suit pockets, saw a canister (some metal) marked "illegal" so I ignored that one and picked up all the other ones that were the same stuff that didn't say "illegal", including a "limpet controller". A local Keystone Kop scanned me and gives me a ticket for $5500cr for "illegal goods". I tell him to stick it up his tailpipe, and continue to pick up everything else, (if I am going to be fined I might as well get something out of it), he goes his way, I go mine.
I INARA, (a very helpful lady), the closest black market, (next sys over), so I hot foot it over to an outpost, go in at 200kph, (I read here somewheres that you can't be scanned if you are going over 200, don't know if this is true, but I wasn't), just before I hit the pad go silent and touch down...all well and good. I pay off the fine, sell the goods and make a modest profit...all but the "limpet controller". It was marked in my cargo panel as illegal, but there was no way to sell it at the BM. I tossed it, but why could I not sell it? Or was it just I couldn't sell it at that BM?
