Black Omega began fifteen years ago as an independent mercenary unit lead by ex-Federal Navy captain Victor Laius and his second-in-command Pahn, formerly a member of an Imperial strike team. The mercenary group became renowned over time, its ranks swelling until they were no longer seen as an asset by the superpowers, but as more of a threat. The unit was ambushed and wiped out by a joint Federal-Imperial task force, leaving only its founders alive and assumed defeated.
Over recent months Laius has rekindled the embers of his former unit on the outer edges of the Pegasi Sector. Under the leadership and guidance of the former pirate and local crime-boss, Deggie de Verre, Black Omega has reinvented itself as supplier of military equipment and security services, with more nefarious business lines operating below the surface. The organisation has struck up several alliances with neighbouring pirate factions, including Delaine's Kumo Crew and now seeks to attract savvy independent commanders to its ranks.
If roughing it out on the fringes of civilisation, using your wits, skill and guile to survive appeals to you, you might just be what Black Omega are looking for. Those who crave the safety and security of the Superpowers and the bubble need not apply.

Black Omega is primarily a BGS (Background Simulation) / role-playing focused group, who have taken to the dark, seedy underworld of the Elite universe to create direction, opportunities, narrative and - most of all - FUN!
Our members are encouraged to settle in and around the Tjakiri system, to help spread our faction across the edge of populated space and throughout the notorious Pegasi Sector. This is a dangerous part of the galaxy, where small populations struggle to exist against a changing backdrop of crime syndicates, dictatorships, theocratic cults and corrupt corporations.
Black Omega expands its power by offering hardware, merc units and advisors to those in need, whilst covertly building up their own influence through illegal activity until they are in a position to assert direct control over a system.
We make use of INARA's Wing Missions to coordinate these actions, written in the form of immersive secured comms from "the Boss" himself, Deggie de Verre!

Although our game-play revolves around criminality and our role-playing portrays ruthless characters, we do hold ourselves to account on being helpful, good-natured, and friendly players. We play in mostly in Open and accept all the game-play that comes with that, but we don't approve of any out-of-game harassment or foul play.
