Black-out while gliding

I've noticed it recently, that when I do sharp turns while gliding, the screen gets gradually darker, and after a short while you lose control of the ship for a couple of seconds.
Gotta love these details!

Not only that, you can get the opposite, red out, when pitching sharply down. Or boosting and turning down in a very fast ship

Live, and I guess it's nothing new.

You can turn that off in the settings. But instead of you blacking out during turns, your ship just stops turning.
