black screen driving me crazy

I have the oculus cv1. After playing elite for maybe 10 minutes I start to get these black screens in the rift, they last maybe 2 seconds and the picture returns. The sound never leaves. It will then persist even in the home screen. So far I have made sure my USB settings are set to not power off, I tried a 3.0 USB power hub. So I assumed it was the cable. Oculus sent me a new cable and I swear it's worse then ever. My computer is a clevo p870Dsm-g . It has a 980 desktop GPu. The Intel 6700K. 16 gig of ram. And the evo ssd. Please help! Driving me nuts.

Nothing in oculus notifications show up. I went back to the old cord, it gives me one flash of a black screen maybe every 4-6min. The new cable was a few times a minute. maybe they sent another defective cable???

Do not use any USB hubs, powered or not. Both the Oculus Sensor and the CV1 headset must be plugged in to dedicated USB 3 (blue) ports or dedicated USB 3 daughtercard compatible with the Rift.

You may want to try repositioning your Sensor approximately 3-4 feet from your normal viewing position and run the "RESET VIEW" wizard under Settings in Oculus Home. Make sure there is no object in between the sensor and the headset that can temporarily block direct sight. Also clean the shiny surface--the one without the OCULUS logo inscribed--with a clean soft cloth so that it's free from fingerprints and other residual that can decrease sensor output and cause tracking issues.

You can also launch the Oculus Log Gatherer tool--it's in the main Oculus directory in one of the utilities subfolder and take a look at the OculusVR log. You should see corresponding entries indicating the drops and check whether they are software or hardware related and go from there.
