Black screen randomly while playing

The last few days I've been getting totally random black screen issues with the horizons client. I'll be playing fine, and then boom. the screen goes black, sound stops, and the client just sits there doing exactly nothing. I have to force it to quit through task manager. Then restart the client. This can happen within minutes of starting the game, or hours later. But it's a recent issue, and it's becoming more frequent. It also tends to happen when I trigger my heat sinks. Other than my video drivers (might be lagging due to radeon updater being borky as well). My computer is fully updated. Including latest video drivers (recently done, ut using only the auto downloaded driver for radeon), sound drivers, etc. I updated them when this occurred for the 3rd time in as many hours. Suggestions?

edit Manually updated my video drivers to current WHQL drivers per radeons website.

Still getting black screens even after video drivers manually updated to current WHQL drivers from Radeon, so, any clues? Thoughts? Ideas? Or am I going to have to go into the ini's and try and figure out why the game crashes like this w/o even a crash report being generated?
