Black Smearing

I do have an issue with DK2, but it's windows/nvidia problem. I run 2 screens and a DK2 off a GTX980, all different Hz speeds. Occasionally I find that the colours on the DK2 get change somehow and everything comes up like it's been posterized. I fix it by going into the desktop "screen resolutions" settings, changing my primary monitor to the DK2, then back again to my primary screen, and the colours switch back to normal. It doesn't matter if ED is running or not when I do this, it still works. I use the second screen API on an older LCD TV for the Mrs to watch. Hope this helps.

Ok time to put this topic to rest. Anyone with smearing, read this.

Fix for smearing - all gone forever bye bye:

Turn the OR settings in NVCP/CCC to thus:

Brightness: 35%
Contrast: 0%
Leave gamma.

Just have faith. Do it and forget this whole problem ever existed :D

blatantly obvious with HDMI, but you've told me you did the brightness and contrast adjustments already which is why you don't see it

ha.. didn't even see your post. Question though, I wonder if it IS an HDMI issue. I did switch from DVI to HDMI about the same time I noticed the smearing. I might switch back and see if it goes away.

These settings look absolutly attocious, btw. You have something else going on that has tweaked your graphics first, maybe its WAY too contrasty, and you turn it to 0 to counter that setting (probably your sweetfx settings). These settings here, makes the game look completely grey/green and washed out, with (of course)... zero contrast.

I've seen something similar - dk2 on gtx970.
When I first upgraded the gpu, it was terrible. But it seemed to be related to my screen settings in extended desktop (I run 3 1080p screens and dk2 as 4th, but two screens are running off cpu gpu, only one screen and dk2 through gtx970).
I'm afraid I can't remember which settings caused it, but having my gtx970 connected monitor as primary (and the dk2 is detected as secondary) fixed it.

I'm pretty sure I had smearing right from the get-go. I use HDMI, don't you? Could be sweetfx. Could be you are so used to your settings that mine seem crazy. But I think at the crux, they are more accurate.
