Black splotchy skies & shadows.

Suddenly, I'm seeing black, pixelated blotches in the skies and shadows, only when viewing through the Oculus. It's as though the image is being filtered with an alpha threshold, beneath which all is {0,0,0} black. This wasn't happening earlier today, & I haven't changed any drivers or runtimes. Anybody else seeing this?

Reset the oculus drivers and report back :)

Shut down, rebooted, & jumped back into the game. Got the same results. I notice that in the opening menu with the planet below, the shoadows are dancing & popping around the edges, in a kind of 32x32 chunky sort of way.

Sounds like your gamma setting (in the ED graphics preferences) is too low. Crank it up to about 80% and the black splotches should be minimised.

You have to restart the Oculus Service each time before you launch ED. Go to Control Panel -> Services and look for the Oculus Service (OVRServer or something like that). Seems like a new bug I have as well.

The next day, this was working fine again. I already had SDK 4.4 installed, & have been rebooting regularly. Perhaps it was an update, but in any case, working fine now. Thanks, all.

I think this happens when the DK2 is runs at 60hz instead of 75hz (no matter what the graphics settings are telling you). It was driving me nuts, but putting the DK2 as the first screen in my Screen Resolution settings sorted this out for me.
