Blank screen when coming out of jump causing me to crash into the star

Hi all,
Since the last upgrade I am having the following issue when I first start a new session:-

On about the 4th or 5th jump the screen goes black and I loss all control of the ship and hence crash in to the start and suffer 1-2% damage.
I don't get the same problem again in the same session even after a couple of hours.
The real problem for me is that I am currently in the galatic centre and it will take me about 1200 jumps to get to the nearest station. At approximatly 50 jumps per session at this rate my ship will be close to destruction by the time I get back to the bubble.

Is any one else experiencing the this?

I've never encountered this, and haven't seen it posted before but, as said above, if you hit X or 'stop' or minimise your speed after the countdown has started you should not collide with the star.

Are you using Supercruise Assist? If so, it isn't working, so disable it in your right hand window under Modules. If you're not using it (I think it was loaded by default) take the above precaution.

If neither works for you, then raise a ticket immediately, before you get yourself destroyed.

I've had spurious Client Lockups of the Client after very extended Sessions - but those didn't have the Client continue to run, so no harm done. Plus, nothing noteworthy happened to that tune after the Sep Update for all I can tell.
(after Task-Killing the locked Client and re-logging after a stuck Hyperjump like that, I typically found myself in the new System)

Not much more can be done if that issue is persistent other than i.e. Verify Game Files or checking that there's no other Software bottlenecking the System.
Stress-testing the System with another Game or Software might indicate if there's a general problem with the System.

Other than that, it's often recommended to exclude the ED folders from live AntiVirus/Privacy Watchdog Software suites and see if that helps.

Screen going black and everything else running on reminds me of another issue that was discussed several weeks ago. In this case, the player had screen issues while in a station IIRC. Source of the issue was his power supply. I would imagine something similar might happen when you drop out of a jump: the GPU suddenly gets a lot of work, therefore draws a lot of power. If the PSU (and cabling) aren't up to that, that might lead to a GPU dropout or even reset.

Possible remedies (besides getting a new PSU):
  • reduce your graphics settings
  • undervolt your GPU

Hi all,
Tried allowing the game to settle for a couple on minutes berfore doing the first jump, seeams to reduce the number of blank outs.
I have been hitting full stop during the jump in case and this has now saved me a couple of times.

Are you using VR by chance? I know the Rift and Rift S have a little forehead sensor that, when it detects that your head is no longer in the headset, turns off the screens and disables HOTAS inputs until you put it back on.

No, but maybe try cutting your throttle before you come out of the jump. That should save you from crashing into the star.
This should solve the problem, but I'm with op in that after a short time, the a game switches to a black screen or desktop since latest release. Happens on both my machines, win 10 or win 7

I think is your hard drive indexing that cant process the load in time. Test your HDD.
This is an absolute guess so take it with a pinch of salt.
