Newcomer / Intro Blanks in RAWS?

Hello

I am curious about something. I have found, what I think are all the RAWS in the game. However, there's a column in the RAWS that remains blank of anything, so it looks like there should be something to find for these slots? Not sure what it's for, future MATS? Can't find any info on this column of blank slots on far right.

By the way, this is NOT my list of RAWS. I wish! But it does show what I see as far as all the RAW MATS, and that one blank column

Apparently
, there are just 4 slots of RAWS, as below, so what's that last column for? Some future Very Rare?

Rare (Grade 4)
Standard (Grade 3)
Common (Grade 2)
Very Common (Grade 1)

Anyone know? Thanks!

I think there was some rejiggery in Raws some time ago IIRC grade 4s were 5s but FD tweaked them to the current situation and there are currently no G5 raws

Yeah, I thought the was a whole column of "G5 MATS" I've not found. Like, I've never encountered a Brain Tree and thought, maybe these drop something that would fit into this G5 column. Guess not. Thanks! ;)

@Gauntlet is quite correct - all G5 raw materials were shuffled about so raws only go up to G4. There is still a graphical glitch in the game that some G4s have a G5 icon in your inventory - they even show a limit of 100 - but that limit changes to the correct 150 figure as you go so no need to worry.

Yup! You're right, I knew I saw some RAWS with G5 icons! I am at Koli Discii right now, doing some farm logging and there they are! Thanks!

Raws are quite easy to come by at geo sites - all raws.

The one that seems rarest (at least to me) is polonium but even that's not too bad.

Surprisingly I always find lots of Polonium when mucking about at Dav's Hope. You often get metallic meteorite signals so chasing them down (and shooting-up other signals too) provides light relief from Dav's circuits. That planet should be really shiny as it seems to have chromium in just about everything.

Arsenic though, don't get me started on Arsenic ....

Oh, arsenic used to be my bugbear too. Rotten stuff.

And selenium.

Crystal shards have saved my sanity with regards to Arsenic & Selenium. Every once and a while I'll farm the shards, down trade, cross trade and fill my bins in 1 to 2 sessions, leaves me raw happy :) Now if only manufactured and data were so simple

I looked up a RAW I needed the other month, there's a site that will tell you where the best locations are for any RAWs, apparently. So I get there, deploy the SRV and start hunting for signals. Not ONE RAW on this entire planet. It's the only planet I have ever landed on that had ZERO signals. I thought something was wrong. I re-logged, thought maybe they just failed to spawn in or some glitch that a relog would fix. Nope. Again, spent an hour driving every quadrant of this planet and nothing, not even a mining outpost or abandoned cargo. Absolutely, nothing on this planet but ice. Weird. Must have been a bug in the spawning. I've never seen a planet that had... nothing, period, zilch

On the page you linked:
  • after you selected the material you were looking for, your reference system, search radius and limiting to landable bodies, select "Volcanism" from the "extra column" pull-down.
  • in the results, limit yourself to bodies with volcanism = yes (you can sort so that volcanic bodies are on the top of the list by clicking on the column header)
  • pack a DSS
  • when arríving at the system, the FSS will tell you that that planet has geological sites (=volcanism)
  • scan the planet with the DSS, and all the geo (and bio, but EDDB doesn't list them) sites will pop up as POIs
  • land at any of them (or all of them in sequence); I usually prefer a flat area in daylight
  • deploy SRV and follow the signals

Thanks! I do try my best to find BIO sites when possible. Certainly easier when they are all clustered together. Driving all over hell is a pain! One thing I've noticed, is that the really good BIO sites for RAWS tend to be far out from the Bubble. But yeah, if I can find a BIO in the Bubble, that's my first stop ;)
