I was hopping system to system trying to nab those G3 equipment before I ventured further into the landscape.
Got a G3 Dominator Suit (empty slots), G3 Karma L-6 with Bonus Headshot Damage (useless mod?), G3 Manticore Intimidator with Reload Speed (praise the RNGuardians!).
Went to a Low Conflict Zone settlement, and shredded those NPCs with ease.
Decided to relog and play a second round for the other side (they were both Empire factions).
After the second round, I recalled my Krait Mk II, fully engineered, and in victory fired my plasma shotgun up towards my approaching ship. It was perhaps my last spread that painted my ship, as I finally got the "Under Attack" warning.
I paid no heed, nonchalantly swapped to my other Primary and fired a single rocket towards it. I mean I played the Alpha, what harm could possibl-
Boom.
I was in awe at the spectacular explosion that had befallen my ship.
I wish I was recording the moment of both confusion and concern.
What happens now? Clearly says my ship cannot be recalled as it was destroyed. My poor crewmember, not a scream over comms.
I was in the bubble when this occurred, called Apex to one of the two outposts in the system, which did not have Inter Astra, so I had to call yet another taxi to ferry me the next system over that had a kiosk.
So here I am typing this up while waiting for the insurance claim (Elite crewmember saved!), with a good 7 minutes timer to calm me down.
Unsure if the wait timer was a design decision to emulate Star Citizen, but begs the question if larger ships like the Corvette will have an even longer wait time.
What if you somehow lost your ship out in the great beyond, is the simplest option a rocket to the knee?
Now I have to find a way to claim my combat vouchers in the respective system, reclaim that 50k out of principle.
