Blinded by the light

Hey, when you look this good, you don't have to know anything ;)

It's all about form over function with the Imp ships, an unreadable HUD is just a part of the charm :)

I hate that too. That white interior is reflecting light so much that it's just impossible to see anything sometimes.

That's one of the reasons I don't like that holographic HUD and would prefer some old fashioned monitor displays (other being that all ships share the same design, which gets boring after a while)
There's a reason why cockpits in today's planes and space shuttles look like they do - and one of those reasons is to make sure that those displays remain readable in full sunlight and in darkness.

In Elite futuristic setting, we have all displays and indicators made of light only. It works well far from any other light sources, but once something shines on it, it becomes harder and harder to read.
Design like that wouldn't hold.

The Cutter's Imperial perfection wears a bit thin when you're trying to read the Systems Panel and failing. A reskin of the Cutter's cockpit would be one cosmetic for which I would willingly buy ARX.

Or just having a font that's readable regardless of the ambient colors - bright letters each surrounded by a black outline, for example.

Yep, quite a few Ships would benefit from that, readability of certain HUD elements can get extremely low on several Ships with direct sunlight.
