General / Off-Topic Blizzard sueing MapHack creators

yeah i read this the other day as well. Apparently it's been dubbed as being 'extreme' and 'heavy handed' but no doubt if successful other publishers will follow suit

Gamers need to learn the rules of business. It's one thing to do it because you can and you think you're cool and you give away your hack for free. Once you start profiting by damaging someone else's business, gloves come off.

not sure about heavy handed, if i'd just paid out good money to buy a new game and discovered it was unplayable as so many people were cheating i'd be rather disappointed and looking for a refund.

Blizzard are only protecting their IP - all it would take is for a couple of their games to be compromised in this way and a whole lot of gamers would be staying well clear of Blizzard for fear of their next offering going the same way.
