Block brakes don't let me add an extra train

I have added block brakes about half way around my coaster, but the arrows for adding an extra train are still grayed out so I can't add a second train.

It is a winged coaster with 5 cars, and I have a single, long brake block.

Is this a bug or something I'm missing?

Ahhh....That's where I'm going wrong. Blocks just before station fixes it.

Cheers.

Always keep in mind the -entire- section ahead must be cleared of any trains. [wink]

When 1 train is at the station (section 1) and the other is at Blockbrake1 (section 2) then neither of the trains has an empty section ahead so both train's cannot move.
Thats why you need blockbrake2 as well to have an empty section ahead :)

On coasters with multiple trains, in testing mode, is there any way to make the other trains leave the station BEFORE the first train completes the entire circuit and comes back to the block break section right before the station? In other words, is there a way to decrease the time between train departures? Otherwise, it can take quite a long time for, say, a four train coaster to complete testing (because each train has to run the entire circuit on its own, without any running at the same time).

Thanks for any help!

No, if you have four trains, to have a continuously running system, you have to have block brakes throughout the track layout.
If you have 4 sections of block brakes behind the station, the rest of the track is ONE block section, and must be clear for safety reasons, before another train can move into that section.

I explain how to get maximum efficiency in the link above.
Keep in mind, anytime a train is sitting on the tracks waiting, it lowers your excitement ratings, because it is boring to just sit there. [wink]

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification!

One of the things that it took me a while to understand is that that lift chain is NOT considered a break section like it was in RTC3. I was a coaster operator (in real life) just after high school on an old wooden coaster and when running two trains, the chain would automatically stop if the train in front hadn't cleared the back block section.

PC doesn't put that logic into the multiple train scenario. So you have to have one more section than you have trains and placing 4 block breaks right before the station just makes the trains sit and wait (which kills your rating completely.....like a 7 goes to a 1.5).
