Bloodbath on the 16th

I'm disappointed at the negative tone of comments in this thread.

Instead of salivating at the idea of blowing these people up or watching them crash and burn.. Why not lend a helping hand?

Give advice, show them the ropes, help them get on their feet. You may even make a friend.

Perhaps I will sit with a Viper at a Nav Beacon and see what happens. But I won't fire the first shot if it is a harmless pilot in a sidewinder.

With the teaser trailer rather suggesting that Elite is a space shooter and the only playable demo for non backers is combat, I'm wondering if many new players will start the game on the 16th with guns blazing. Will the first few hours of launch day resemble the battle above Coruscant from Star Wars III?

Hope so, a few noobs kills and may be I will no longer be class as harmless.

That could enforce their view of the game being a hostile environment to be met by force.

aka they realize it called dangerous for a reason.

Lol! I think it's optimistic to assume they will EVEN make it into combat.

I look forward to massivecrash fest as they try to make it out of the space station...

LOL. Now have visions of hundreds of ships bouncing round the inside of a station ricocheting off each other.

Full power to systems commander ;)

Because of the metric system right?

Not exactly....

If they bought the game after watching the trailer, some people will have a nasty surprise when they press the fire button anywhere close to a station.

This!

haha a whole new generation will experience Frontier's old "Unlawful discharge of weapon" error once more but this time it's far more epic.

I'll be around in my gunship looking out for the newbs. I have a "kill anything that's warranted" policy... The Dexter of space, apparently..

Belive me as one of the new players launching on the 16th, my first port of call will be to get as far away from the new players that wish to "prove" how good they are, and learn how to fly in open space, I have no intention of attempting to fight my way out of any situation until I have mastered the ability to fly, jump, trade and make money!

i forsee a slew of new players will be shooting at everything and anything. then complaining on the forums about huge fines and how unfair the game is.

you guys know... that talking like this only justifies a total Wipe on launch..

... you know, to keep it reasonable for the new clientele.

No one wants to start a game where every beta tester already has a better and more geared up ship.
