Blue glow after taking down shields?

I was fighting a cobra NPC and after I took down its shields, the cobra glowed blue like still having some type of shield or something?!
The multi-canon didn't had any or very small effect on it, but the burst lasers were effective.

Has anyone experienced that? Is that a new feature/hull or a bug I should ticket?

Energy weapons are great against shields, not so much against hulls.

Projectile weapons are great against hulls, not so much against shields.

At least that is the understanding I have, and is a common game mechanic in space games in my experience.

Their shields are down but the shield hit glow is stuck.

It's a bug, ticket it.

I thought this was normal. Most of the ships I shield down, a new blue bubble comes up. There's an animation for it forming so I assumed it was intentional. It is a bit weird though.

Are you sure it's a bug and not a Shield Cell item you can buy at the outfitters? I've seen it, but I assumed its the Shield Cell item being used.

Shield Oddity

I remember seeing this yesterday (whilst being slapped around by a Type-6 :( ) and looking back on a wee bit of footage, it does appear to be a bug:

I suck. I know. Shhhh.

It can't be a Shield Cell because you can only deploy those while your shield is still active. And this definitely happens after taking down shields.

So I will ticket it as the other said it was a hit shield glow is still active.

Ahh thanks for confirming, not used a Shield Cell so not sure how it was used. Having another look at the video, when the ship is getting hit it's taking hull damage. so yes looks like a bug. Apologies.

I've seen it too, and it's hard to tell but it almost seems like it acts like a shield in regards to preojectile rounds. But if def appears AFTER shields go down, so I'll ticket it myself next time.

I noticed it a number of times today and assumed it was a shield cell, although I've never had one myself so wasn't entirely sure. I must admit I didn't think it could be a bug so didn't report it but may well do so now I've seen this thread.

I think it is a bug. A few minutes ago I met with a friend to take some cool pictures of his new ASP and we took our shields down but he still had this blue bubble around his ship:

It made no difference to turn them on/off again or to gain more distance, he lives in a blue bubble now :)

I think that is a bug. You can see on the scanner that the shields are down and the blue bubble pops up but the scanner still shows no shields yet. That's gotta be a bug. Displaying the shield graphic when the shields are down. Ticket it!

Seems to happen when they try to use SCBs (and NPCs are using SCBs now) too late, after shields have failed.

Yes, it's a bug.

Been in my game since 1.0, figured everyone knew about it. I see it pretty much 1/3 rd of the time and its not shield cell related that I can tell.
