Boa Constrictor

So weve got a python and Anaconda.

I'd like to see a Boa Constrictor.

Heavily armored medium pad capable ship as large or heavy as a python. Tank type, more of a hull tank than a shield tank. More combat oriented than the multirole python. 4 large hardpoints, same speed but a bit more maneuverable at the cost of less cargo capacity and jump range. Same powerplant as the python.

Whilst the Boa was smaller than the Anaconda in Elite, it was the Anaconda's big brother, in Frontier and First Encounters It's not going to sit on a medium pad.

Haha - the Anaconda's description:

'Nothing special'
An Independent heavy trader. Slow, and not capable of carrying as much as most of the others in its class, but nevertheless it's decent enough

The Imperial Trader looks aces though:

'The Courier's big sister'
Apart from the Python, this is the cheapest heavy trader. It's also the second smallest and fastest, but by far the best looking. The Imperial Trader is the only large trader the Empire builds, and it is only available inside the Empire. If you like the Courier yet want to become a trader, this is without doubt the ship for you. The rest of the traders may be much bigger, but none look as good.

If I recall correctly, the Boa was both a great trade ship and the best long range exploration ship in FE2. It pretty much outclassed the Anaconda both in manueverability and speed and was much easier to land on planets with, as well as fuel scooping above gas giants.

This was the ship I used to travel to Beta Lyrae and back, as well as visit all the super giant and special systems I could find in FE2.


The Constrictor was a Cobra sized ship that was inferior to a Cobra in most ways. I thought the ship looked awesome, but no matter what setup I tried to fit into it, I could always get better out of a Viper, Cobra and heck even a Krait. A lot of ships in FE2 looked cool but were otherwise worthless. Kind of like Eagles. It's a neat touch that they stayed faithful to the Eagle mk3 (Imperial version) in FE2 with the wing pylons. Too bad they butchered the Courier.

the constrictor was a mission in the original game its destruction got u the military power unit forgot what its was called have got it a military extra energy unit

I am always game for more "lore" ships however to save confusion I would rather have the Boa Class cruiser instead..... (and the constrictor as well )

I see no harm in looking at the elite ............quaternary (is that a word???) as a whole... For the most part the time line flows AFAIK

Nono i dont want the original boa concept changed to a different one. Just want a separate version of the boa called constrictor, like how the assault ship compares to the dropship
