Even for North America. You know they kill snakes, right? Especially rattlers, since they can hear them and eat them. That's why up here in northeast Texas many snakes aren't around (we have them, just not common because of the pigs)

Thouse things are super tough. Similar to honeybadgers they dont have a special venom resistence but simply a hide too thick to be pirced by their fangs. They also can easily tank bullets And still f you up, granted theres a good chance they will bleed out too BUT they will Do their best to take you with them.
Id rather meet a wolf at night in the forest then a pig

I have some friends and my dad once watch about 15 pigs running across a field. They all went through some barbed wire just fine, but 1 in particular got stuck on it, and when he got out it ripped part of its back, but still kept on going.

I also remember we were driving at night in my dad's truck (a 2007 Chevy Silverado) to look for some animals (like a safari), and we came across 3 pigs. 2 of them left, but 1 stayed behind and was pawing the ground, almost like it was gonna charge. Fortunately it left.

These animals are very dangerous, but I'd love them in PZ

Another fun tidbit is that in german most of the huntable animals have a short name of one feature + "wild"
Wild means the same as in english mostly, but could also be losely translated with beast in the context of the hunterspeech, Another Common nickname/insult for the boars.
And the boars are called "schwarzwild", Black beast if you want to translate it like that and thats a little thing i just find very awesome

Ok, so, here in US we call them wild pigs, pigs, wild boar. Occasionally feral hog

I heard that they're called razorbacks in Australia.

What other names are they known as? I'm sincerely asking.

Its not directly a name, but they are often referenced in folklore as great tests of strenght, wit and courage. Some example would be the Boar that herakles needed to catch as one of his 12 deeds, the fact that the godess diana send out wild boars on thouse that displeased her or the boar Sahrimnir that was literally unkillable and would be resurected each new morning
